Acan needs hand feeding ? w/p

This is my first acan, not sure its ID. I tried to hand feed it with small mysis shrimps but the polyps didn't try to grab the food as the shrooms do. I thought I've read a thread that said acan needs hand feed. Now I'm not sure if my memory is correct. Please advise

when are you trying to feed it? in my experience they only open up their feeders at night or if you have food in the water column. i usually put some mysis in a turkey baster and hit them after the ligths have been out for a few hours.

I tried both ways during the light on and polyp fully open. Neither way the acan could grab the food. Did you actually see the acan catch the food and swallow it ?

the polyps on mine open up at night, and it the morning I feed it small pieces of krill from a skewer. It is kinda a pain, but the tentacles will grab on to the krill if it isn't on the skewer too tightly. Having a mantis and a gluttonous purple stripe pseudo makes feeding coral really tough!
