I have some acans in the middle of my tank and some on sandbed . I run a 65 gall with t5 . None seem to really puff up or accept food

Acans

How long have you been running ur tank? I had some in the beginning of my tank (like 2 months in) and they were very skinny for a while but now they're puffy. Tough little bastards.

Low flow, low light, move them further down and ideally not in direct flow. If the heads move or sway it's too much and they'll close up.

I find that my acans tend to like a little more light. I have them in top of a small rock about 4 inches above the sandbed. They were on the sandbed and when I moved them up just a small amount it made a big difference in how much they opened up.

Acans are hardy. Place all of them at the bottom with low light and low flow. I feed mine Reef Roids and have seen good growth after direct feeding once a week.

"And the Lords said, "Let there be light!!!"" Sorry, couldn't help it...

How long have you had these acans? I've found it's not unusual for a new acan frag to not puff up all the time until it gets adjusted to things.
