acan receeding

i got a frag from my lfs maybe a month ago? it was a two polyped acan. it seemed to be doing so well. it was eating at night and everything. well over i would say the last 2-3 days it has started to recede and you can see parts of white skeleton around the outside of the polyp. i have a 30g tank. i use coral pro salt mix. i did a water change a few days ago as well and did a major deep cleaning in my sand!! the tank seems to shows signs of a mini cycle, very little bits of algae on sand but barely anything. maybe its from that?

i tested water just now and nothing seems to be out of wack. ph 8.1 alk 10.3 nitrates between 5-10 which is normal in my tank. salinity 1.024 temp averages probably at 80 degrees. i have led's that are not on full blast, coral frag is at the very bottom on the tank on sand bed. maybe move it under some other rocks so it would be in the shade?

what should i do? any type of dip or just let it see if it will recover? possibly from the water change?

Not an expert at all, but had a recent issue with an acan frag of mine. I suspect that my problem was multifocal, high nitrate (20+), high phosphate (0.25), high alk (12-13 dKH) along with a peppermint shrimp that ripped one mouth open, too much light and too much flow.

To tack down your issue you need to provide more info and a decent picture would also help.

Try low flow, low light. Look for pests. Are both heads receeding equally? From the outside in or inside out?

Also check calcium, alkalinity and mag.
