Acan won't eat?

I was feeding my acan about every 2 days; then went about 4 days w/o feeding, and now it won't eat; it won't even hold the mysis...just lets it fall off. Any ideas/suggestions?

Every two days is a bit often IMO. I usually do 1-2 times per week, occasionally 3. Could be that they are completely sated and not hungry. I take it you are feeding (or attempting to) at night when the tentacles are out?

Were they putting out feeded tentacles before? Are they now? Anything things else change? How do they look otherwise?

They are and were putting their tentacles out (I'm feeding to stimulate growth....one of only 2 corals in the tank right now). Nothing changed, and they look fine, I actually think I see a few (baby?) heads popping up.

Then I wouldn't worry. It might have something to do with the baby sprouts. Just keep trying to feed them every couple of days. They might just be getting food from the water column too. They can grab on to just about anything with their tentacles out.

I'd wait a few days before worrying. If they still wont eat, you turn your pumps off and squirt a little thawed frozen cyclopeeze mixed with a few drops of selcon/zoecon on the acan, it should open up and put out it's feeders in less than 30 minutes.

Always has worked for all of my acans.
