Acans and frags and plugs oh my -- should I remove them?

I just got several 2 to 3 polyp LPS frags, 3 chalice, and 4 acans. They are all mounted to standard 3/4 inch plugs, and most are sitting on a small pedistal of cut live rock or carbon skeleton. What is the best way to get them to spread off of this pedistal? Remove them from the plug. Set is in a deep hole in my live rock? Puddy up to it? Cut back the pedistal. I want these to grow and spread as fast as possible.

The stems snap off quite easily on some plugs, others are impossible. Look for crevices in your rock to embed the stem and then epoxy up the remaining exposed base. It might look a little strange at first, but once they start growing you'll never notice it.

I can't stand the look of plugs in my DT so I always pop the frags off the pugs with a tiny screwdriver or what I have found works better is a pair of wire cutters and a couple of snips of the super glue under the coral. Never had a problem. From there, I either glue the frag to a rock or to a piece of rubble and then glue to the main rock.

If the frag has fully encrusted the plug I just leave it.

I can't stand the site of frag plugs in my display either. I will usually do the same at greech described. Or I buy ocean wonders frag rocks and mount them on there.
