In comparison are lords and micro's pretty close in size?
Whats the differances with them both without looking at coral structure?
TIA

Thanks clkwrk! I seen someone here show some micro's and they are almost the same sized as the lords they had next to them.
Thats why i am asking.

i agree with donavonsreef. ive seen micro polyps (especially in small frags were the polyps have room to spread out) that were just as big as lord polyps.
the best way to tell is to get them to retract and youll notice they are much smaller then lords when retracted.

These are both micros just to give you a comparison on how different polyp size can be.

Nice pics!! Thanks for the help!! Glad i asked!!
Will all micro's expand like that? Or are they light startved?
Also i heard pink acans and lords have something wrong with them or are very light startved to achive that color.
Like the pink floyed and the pink lemonade are very tough to keep their colors. I have heard they will turn orange with more light.

Some expand like that & some don't. There not light starved I had them under 175 m/h with 140w VHO & switched to 2 x 250w M/H and 140 VHO on my 55gal. & that guy still puffs up like that. I don't think the pink micros are bleached if the were they would eventually just turn clear but i could be wrong. I have never had it happen.

Well i just picked some micros from a local reefer, and yes its true the pink floyed will turn orange with normal light. He has very beautiful micros and lords so i believe him, he told me the pink is almost impossable to keep unless he keeps his tank very dim.
I am on tyrees waiting list for the pink lemonade, Can someone tell me if thats the case with them too?
TIA

DonavonsReef- i have both morphs!
Creetin- they way pink works is simple. often times people sell red corals that are slightly bleached do to light starvation as pink. when they are put under proper lighting, they return to thier normal color of red and leaves the purchaser disappointed. however there are actual pink corals out there and ofter times that true pink color demands a premium in price. both the pink floyd and pink lemonade both have the color pink in them. but like every coral, it can change a bit in each different setup. it doesnt take much to shift pink to red.

ive got a pink lemonade micro and it has turned slightly orange from high light exposure. ill tell you one thing, they grow very slowly.

I think there are mainly two types of Micros that made their way to the US. They came from either Japan or Taiwan. The Japanese Micros inflate much larger than the Taiwan Micros. The Japanese Micros also seem to be less common. Most of them can be traced back to the same one or two guys in the states.

Thanks for the info!! One thing i have noticed is that the micro's i got is they puff up like crazy, Unlike the lords i have, But my lords are still new to being captive. Both are wild specimines, and i am adjusting them to my light slowly, and getting better by the week.
Both are happily eating, and tenticles are out everywhere at night. One is turning a shade of pink.

Ok i have noticed that some acans puff up really well like my pinkish on there, and even better is a green and red acan is puffing up like crazy. Mt micro's as well.
Now i have 1 non indo lord thats red and purple and it puffs up, But not like any of the rest. Is this a typical for non indo lords?
Or because of its color? Its a red ring with light purple.
Would that be a reason? I have had it for almost 2 weeks, and it just came in wild a few days earlier.
Could it just be acclimating?
Sorry for all the questions.
TIA

Do you know where most of skinnychinaman's came from? I have 4 colonies and they are all very small. Here are a couple poor pix, they are beauties. I also have a couple Lord colonies and the polyps are much larger.

When I first got them -
