Acans best lighting

What is the best lighting for acans to color up (MH or T5's). I recently removed some acans from one tank that I run MH in to a tank with T5's and they seem to color up more.

They color up under lower lighting, they also get a nice bolder color. I have experienced this with my acans. Under MH they stay the same and could sometimes bleach under too much lighting. My acans color up way better under lower lighting.

Keep in mind their natural habitat; murky, low light, high nutrient

T5's give a nice even diffuse light assuming you pick the correct bulb combo

Radiums are the best, they just need to be replaced every 6 months. You can get a spectrum that's fairly close using t5's. Also the aussies might not handle much more than a 150w radium

I tried T5s and MHs. I think Radium 20Ks are the best bulb for color. Nothing beats it IME

I 2nd the 20k radiums but with T-12 supplemental lights using super actinics. Thats the best setup I have seen so far. So I jumped on the bandwagon and did the same!

I have all my Aussies in a 24x24x10 frag tank with a single 250w Radium 20K bulb. I am using an electronic ballast so i replace it every 8-10 months. They are all under about 6" of water. I tried T5s, but I wasn't impressed with the results I got.
