Acans together?

Does anybody know if you can put two different acans close together to colonize the same rock or will they sting each other?

Yes and no. Typically it's safe to put different types of lordhowensis close, but echinata's can be nasty and are best left as individual colonies (or at minimum next to other echinata's with slight risk). Just my experience.

:thumbs up:

All my lords live side by side.My echinata is a different story all together.I had an eight polyp lord colony fall on my echinata over night and when I saw it the next day it was toast.

Yeah, my orange crush has tagged my brain three times now I think. Range of about 2". I also had a echinata fall on a set of zoa's, and couldn't have been there very long at all. No impact what so ever on the echinata, almost the entire colony of zoa's were toast.

that is an awesome picture. I have the same orange crush (I think)..hmmm I think I might try putting some of the lords together.....they are all kind of spread out right now and taking up alot of real estate. I've just been worried they would knock each other out.

Lords will be fine with each other. I have them touching in one of my tanks. Here is how I mounted several frags a couple weeks ago. Its going to look sweet once they grow in.

Honestly, I've put lords so their feeding arms are touching without issues.

Victim just a week or so later (tag was in the lower left corner, you can see the color change). It's amazing how well LPS truely can survive and thrive. When I sucked away the "bad" areas, it was nothing but raw skeleton and yet a week later...
