Acanthastrea Lords Polyp Disease

To my understanding there is a disease that goes by the name "White Ring around the polyp". I think I might have an acan lord that has this disease and I would like to have some help diagnosing this, and finding a possible cure. I had the coral in this condition for about a month and have been continuing to feed it Mysis Shrimp and cyclopeeze daily. As you can see from the picture, it looks as though the polyps deflated or maybe even detached themselves. In the picture, I circled the one polyp that is still partially normal. I don't know what possibly could have happened and I'm wondering if there is ever a chance of this coral coming back to full health with beautiful open polyps once again.

I have never heard of such a thing:confused: Not to say there isnt such a thing but how did you come to the understanding of this "White Ring around the polyp"?

Any chance of getting a better picture? Im very familiar with these corals but that picture looks as much as acanthastrea as it does a rock of green mushrooms :( (no offense)

If you could give a little insight to what kind of system it's in, is there a good current or stagnant waters? Strong or subdued lighting? Whats your nitrates test at? Can you test for phosphates? What about your alk and calcium levels?

Yes, I should have been much more specific. I bought this from an online vendor. It was shipped to me and by the time i put it into my 54g Corner tank, it had already had this damage. The vendor gave me my money back and said they believe that they heard of this happening to lords when they are stressed said it was called "White Rings around the polyps disease" . He said to try lugol's solution which I had never heard of. I do know this vendor is reliable as I have bought from them before, along with 1000's of other and received amazing corals. As for the picture I provided, I can't really get much better. This is just how ugly and pathetic this coral looks. You can see part of the one polyp that isn't deflated in the yellow circle.

I also have 2 other lord colonies, and lots of other LPS in my tank. I don't think my water has caused this. My real question is, can this be cured and brought back to health?

Water Params:
Temp: 78
Ph: 8.3
Alk: 3.49 meq/l
Ca: 420ppm
Nitrate:Undectable (Salifert)
SG: 1.0235

Sorry, I do not have a test for phosphates.

The lighting in my system has 150W Hqi MH, and 96watts of Actinic t5's. I've tried moving the lords around in various lighting and current but nothing has seemed to make it want to open. It is currently in a moderate lighting along with moderate current.

To me I just couldn't get myself to throw this out when I know it has potential to be a beautiful addition to my tank.
