In Memoriam
I was speaking to an exporter for aussie acans and he was telling me all about the water clarity where these colonies are taken from. And that he switched his lighting from halides to T-5's in his holding tank. I thought he stated these was a topic discussion on this exact issue but I couldn't find anything. This is regards to lighting with acans. Here's what I heard...
After 6-8 months under halides (even on bottom of a tank) individuals are seeing their acans begin to see some receding? He told me once this happens it keeps deterorating and thats that. Has anyone have proof on their lighting condition over 6-8 months and where they have their colonies.
My experience with indo acans for the last two years is that they did great under 250 or 400 watt halides as long as they were on the bottom of the tank partially shaded. I'm heading to the 6-8 month time line in which these aussie's have been in my tank. They are shaded and doing great. Thanks
