Acanthurus leucosternon x nigricans hybrid compatibility

Hello!

I've had my eye on these fish since Divers Den has been selling them - but I'm concerned about their agression. I have a 150 gallon tank, a 5' tank - that's probably too small, yes?

This fish would be the only "large" fish in the tank at the moment. I have three Evansi Anthias, and I'm planning on adding a pair of Tinkeri Butterflyfish in the future.

Is it a bad idea to get the hybrid? I don't want a fish that will beat up the Tinkeri when I add them down the road.

Would a 'pure' A. nigricans work out better for me (in general)?

When my hybrid got comfortable, it got aggressive. It tried to take the dominant position in the tank's hierarchy, and that's what got it into trouble with the other fish. I'd say it's as "mean" as any powder blue. I'm not completely sure how it would mix with your fish.

Ah, that sounds like a no go then.

Do you have any thoughts on the A. nigricans instead? They are smaller, not quite as active - do you think that would translate into a nicer tank mate?
