So im in the process of switching over my 40b to my 75. Its a PITA to catch my six line with all the LR. at night he sleeps near the top corner of the tank(weird). Would it be ok to catch him while he is "sleeping" and climate him to the 75 or should i wait till my lights turn on

That's a technique a lot of people use when the fish is accessible. If the tanks have the same temp and salinity, I would just drop it in to avoid further stress.

in that case, i would catch it, put it in a bag, float the bag in the 75 for 15 minutes, then release it.

Not to put your idea down because thats what i do with my freshwater tank but for anything that goes into my MR tanks i always drip aclimate its a habit I picked up from fellow reefers and has stuck with me.

I guess what I'm really asking is it going to cause extra stress on him if I do it while he is "sleeping". Ive had hime for 1.5 years and would hate to loose him. he is the first fish I ever bought

i don't think it'll cause him extra stress. imo, the quiker you can catch it, the lesser stress for the fish.
