acclimating coral idea

In regards to starting a coral on the substrate, and moving it up the rock structure:

Instead of constantly glueing, and unglueing it up the rock over time, can't you just use a frag stand suction cup on the glass, and move the coral up that way.....since moving a suction cup structure would seem a lot easier?

Then, when the coral reaches it's final height, glue it in the spot you want?

That way you avoid the constant glue/unglue situation?

Or is there other ways people do it?

i dont think anyone glues and unglues them, you just set them there for a week, stick them in a hole or rest the frag plug somewhere.

then glue it once when its in the final location that its happy in.

The flow will undoubtedly change once relocated regardless of height in the display. For a potentially finicky piece I think the goal would be to settle it in to the desired flow and light simultaneously. For hardy pieces, it wouldn't make a difference.

The acclimation to light process, usually only takes a week, if you are willing to slowly move it up with a frag rack then go ahead. Many people just stick their frags in their rock and leave it, light acclimation is not as important to certain corals, sps will open up better and sooner by doing this, but softies and large polyp stony corals don't really need it.
For me I just find holes in the rock work to acclimate them, once done, then I glue them into place.
Again light acclimation is not always needed.

use an aquamag, they look like rock and can be moved around with a magnet on the glass. Mr.saltwater tank uses them and has a vid on it.

I just glue them down where I want them. IF there is an issue I deal with it but MOST of the time they are just fine where I place them
