Acclimating corals to LED???

I hope this is in he right section. I am about to switch over to led's, specificly AI Sol's. I see alot of threads discussing the slow ramp up when switching lighting to prevent bleaching and burning of coral. But I dont see much talk about people bringing in new corals to there tanks once there lights have already been ramped to as high as you are going to go. So when you are bringing in new corals what acclimation are you doing to them for the lighting?

I think the reason you don't see many people talk about new corals is because even if you were running MH, light acclimation should be pretty much the same. Start the coral out in the lowest part of the tank and slowly bring it up to the desired height.

The reason for having to ramp up slowly with LEDs after the switchover is because your corals are already at a certain height.

I made a cave in my rock setup and put new corals in the cave which still gets some light, but probably not even half of what it would normally get if it were in an open area. I have had good success moving the corals towards the front of the cave a little bit at a time until the coral is out of the save. Acclimation is a pain no matter what lights you have unfortunately.

Definitely start low even from a mh light to an led. I purchased a frag from a fellow reefer who owned 400mh and I have a 240w led. Yeah, I put it in the same place and bam instant bleach! So with leds definitely an unknown, start low move high.
