Acclimating to MH's

What is the best way to acclimate to MH's? I currently have my tank lit with 265w CP's. How long should I expect to do the acclimation also.

Reduce your photo period from whatevre it is now to like 4 hrs a day and then each week raise it by an hr our so to your desired settings i.e. 7-12hrs or such.

You can also use screen door mesh in layers over the top of your tank and every few days remove a sheet until there gone. Hope this helps.

Are your MH's hanging from the ceiling? You could drop them a little lower each day as well. The screen option is the easiest IMO, but kinda hard unless your tank is covered or you don't mind having huge pieces of screen over it.

IMO window screening is the best way to go. I prefer it over cutting the photo-period. I look at it this way, for the first time outside I can still get sun burnt in an hour --- short photo-period. If I use sun screen I will be fine --- like window screening.

I place some egg create over the tank, to hold the layers of window screening. I use 3 layers, and remove a layer each week.
