Will try to keep this short and sweet. I bought a coral. A coral I will drool over. A lot. It was 30" under 400w 20k metal halide bulbs. The bottom of my tank is 30" under my own bulbs, which are 400w 10k metal halides. I need to find out how many hours per day his halides were on, and I will be reducing the photoperiod based on that, but my question here is how high would I need to raise my lighting (my fixture is suspended from the ceiling) to approximate the amount of light it would have been getting under the 20ks? I do not know the brand names on the 20k or my own 10k lighting, so I'm afraid I'm asking for advice on generalities.
The last thing I want to do is burn this coral. Hopefully someone has some knowledge or experience with this
