they are every hardy, as long as the salinity is about the same and temperature is about the same, I just drop it in. As with many of the animal, you can't go wrong with drip them in
I float mine for at least 45 minutes. Then place them in the tank and rotate it 360 degrees, kinda like it is doing a summersault underwater. This allows for any air bubbles to come out. I also gently tap the shell just slightly in case there is any bubble.
