If I was, say, a risky reefer could I temp. acclimate for 10 mins then throw the lil sucker in?

You can do that but but question is did you biuy it at your LFS or have it shipped from a dealer? I ask because you can always ask your LFS about their levels and lighting they use over the tanks and the transpoting from the LFS to your house is much less stressful than and overnight delivery. So if you got it from the lfs I'd say a shrt acclimation is okay but not if it came from a dealer.
