What are acceptable temperature swings? My tank this a.m. was 77.2, by this afternoon 78.6, my lights came on about 5 hours about and it's 80.2. It's a stock Aquapod 24 that I just set up 2 days ago. I don't have anything in it except for 2" aragonite sand that I seeded with 2 cups of sand from an established tank.
Aceptable temp swings?

you could try either:
a. put a fan on during lighted hours
b. turn your heater up 1 degree so there is less of a swing

no a desktop clip-on fan blowing across water....or any external fan blowing across water
or for now to help stabilize, use a heater and set it to 78 degrees with your therm.

I live in Fla and use heaters in all my tanks. Stability.
An acceptible swing is 1 or 2 degrees max.
