achilles and powder blue tang

Hi is it possible to keep the 2 fish together in a 5x2x2 tank?
I've already got the Achilles and bought the powder blue today but there is alot of aggression going on at the moment will this calm down or should I return the powder blue tomorrow?

Thanks

I had luck with them two together but I would first let the powder blue acclimated with the Achilles. Try tapping a mirror to one side of the glass so the Achilles is putting it's aggression on his own reflection. But generally they might not get along cause they are tangs of similar shape.

Powder Blue's were the most active fish I had ever seen...until I saw an Achilles, way too small of a tank, I think one of them is not going to make it.

I have only been able to keep a healthy and happy Achilles in a VERY large tank (96x36x24) with a ton of flow.

Ok thanks for the advise, will hopefully be looking at getting a larger tank in the future just a case of convincing the Mrs. Aggression seams to be next to nothing this morning but think I'll be returning the powder blue don't fancy stressing the Achilles anymore than necessary.

Did you put the new tang into your DT without quarantine?

I've got a PBT in a 5x2x2 that is absolutely beating the crap out of a passive blonde Naso at the moment. If I switched out the Naso for an Achilles; I'm certain it would be a fight to the death.

It's been three days since adding the Achilles to the group so far both powder blue and brown has him staying between caves and being aggressive time to time. Good thing is he eats when feeding the tank so think maybe few more days things should settle down he will swim around tank more freely. I watched the two yellow tangs keep the scopas tang pin to one corner for a week till he was able to swim more freely now.

Check out short video, keep eye on cave area Achilles will make appearance:

While difficult to find one of the LFS owners here in Vegas drives to California and came across this one knowing I have been asking for one for some time now. He brought this one back to me. Not sure if he purchased it from a wholesaler or LFS in California.
