Hi, ive just been reading on ur, that someone is considering adding a pb & achilles to a 60x33x24 tank......is this a dream is the tank large enough? i would luv to do this but as i understood it, its a no no........I believe they have also mensioned a yellow tang already in place who is quite agressive, whats the best way to add them, together at nite, using mirror etc....you thoughs please

The tank would be fine for a PBT but you really need a 6' for the Achilles, even though the tank is fairly wide, also a lot depends on the size of the Achilles as a small one would probably be ok for awhile. Both fish are know ich magnets so any stress between them could bring out ich or other problems. PBT can be agressive, as can YT, so problems could develop between them. It would probably be better to put the PT in at night or during a feeding time. Either way the fish are going to find each other and they'll probably fight or measure each other for a while before settling in.

I would think a lot really depends on the fish as some PBT settle in while others are aggressive as for YT they usually can be a problem.

anyone tried this????

Of corase people have tried this, they have even tried putting 3 tangs in a 30 or 55 gal tank.

Yes...I tried.....unfortunately....

Achilles almost kill my Powder......

I Think that they can go together....but the reef have to be large enough and the fishes must be introduce at the same time

Hi...

The reef has 210G

Here is the picture, I took with my friend :

My experience has been only with med-large PBTs. My PBT is around 5". When I first got it was around 3". Since the PBT has grown, it has become VERY agressive. TOO agressive. I think at a younger age they may be much more tolerant of other fish. However, this fish has turned into Satan within the last 3 months. And is getting worse every day.

So what I'm saying is that with my experience, you may be able to keep them together for some time. But if you keep them healthy and allow them to mature (which is usually the goal), you will soon have problems with the two.
