Just got a great looking Achilles today that has been in captivity for 3-4 years. He's about 6-7 inches. After acclimation, he got beat up a little from the transfer from taking him out of the original tank and from putting him in mine. Has some scratches on his body and skin and a few bruises. He is not freaking out in the tank. What would you recommend I do? Haven't tried food yet since he is getting used to the surroundings. I plan on soaking food in Selcon and Garlic. Should I just wait and see?

Thanks

Yes, achilles are just soft bodied like powder blues and browns. As long as it's just minor scrapes and some slight bruising, he should recover on his own just fine.

Just let the fish heal on its own in a few days it will look good as new.

My PBT put a cut into my yellow tang side and was bloody, in a week the yellow tang was back to normal.

+1...My Achilles went after my Yellow Tang when I introduced it to the tank and put a cut in it's side. I dont know if the AT actually did it, or he cut it on rock running from the AT. Either way the cut healed on it's own in a few days. There was no bleeding, just a cut.

I would make sure that you are looking for any signs of ich... this body shape is known to get it... I also hope you didnt put it into you dt...
