Achilles Tang?

Ray

Its a hard tang to keep. I have gone through 3. I will not get anymore. You almost have to get them stright from the ocean. Stress very easily

They are my favorite tang, I remember diving with them while stationed in Hawaii. Huge schools of them, 10+ inches.

One that for me is better left in the ocean.

Ray,

At the only saltwater store in Indiana, Pa I saw the most horrific thing today. They had a Clown Tang, and a Convict Tang together in a 10 gal tank. I'm not one to call the tang police but I couldn't believe my eyes. The Clown Tang looked really healthy and the Convict was starving to death while trying to eat anything it could but with nothing in the tank. They both were desperately trying to eat constantly nipping at anything for food. Im guessing that they just had got them in and wont last long.

i went to school at iup and if it is the store i think it is... unfortunately that is normal for them to not care about their livestock. they put tanks outside in the summertime. if the fish died half the time they would sit there and cook in the heat. once they were even baked on the bottom of the tank.

disclaimer: not sure if this is the same store as i can't remember if they had anything for salt water. i was still a fresh water man then.

Wow. That is terrible. We have a responsibility to patronize people who take their responsibilities to these animals seriously. I hate hearing about people who don't do what they should....let alone store owners, who ought to know better and be "experts".
