Acro on the sandbed?

Can you keep Acros on the sandbed? I have some frags directly under my Kessil a360we in a 20g long. The light is about 20" from the sandbed. Im asking because with my aquascape there is no rocks directly under the light. It looks like a valley, ill try to get a picture.

you definitely can keep them on the sandbed.....it depends on the ccoral and the light. you should light acclimate from the sand and move up anyway.... though, with a360 you can control % of intensity so you theorhetically dont need to acclimate corals in the traditional way.....

if you are still getting used to your lights, take it slow, and remember that the leds look less bright than they actually are....hence people frying corals.

I am also very curious about a kessil 360 on a 20 L tank....its gotta be a superfluous amount of light. what are they set at

Do u mean on the sand with the sand going over the coral and it partly snuffed from
The sand on its bottom? I always put a piece on rubble or live rock on the sand then the frag never directly on the sand otherwise I'll have a dead piece and I feel
Like the frag doesn't get as good flow

They are on frag plugs just sitting in the sand. I had to frag them because of STN I think it was or just wasn't getting enough light. When I switched to the kessil the acros were on the edge of the tank. I keep the intensity about 70% and then I do a "High Noon" where its 100% for maybe 30-60min.

I'm not sure what kind of PAR you would be getting. I know i can keep acro's on my sand bed because i'm getting 300+ PAR along with plenty of flow. Only thing you have to watch out is snails and hermits knocking them around.

It's a pretty shallow tank so I would think the par would be pretty high.

If I can get to the store im gonna try to make a small rack for them at the top of the tank. Most of the snails and hermits stay on the rocks.
