I have an acropora millepora in my tank that is losing polyps from the top of the tips down. This is been happening over a period of two weeks. The end of the tips are brown not white. I have a smooth acro that has never had any poly extension and i've had it for 6 months. I don't see any red bugs what else could it be? Any other pests? My phosphates are .03, no nitrates, salinity 1.026 with refractometer that has been calibrated. I have an ati light fixture. Both acros are aroung 12" down in tank. I do have a few leathers could that be it. I run gfo and carbon 24/7.

Can you tell if it's losing polyps or if you're just not getting very much extension? Are the polyps extending at night?

Most obvious thing would be some kind of predator picking on the polyps. Do you have any angels in the tank?

What are your levels for:
Calcium
Alkalinity
Magnesium

Your description sounds a lot like typical result from Low Alkalinity or extremely High Alakalinity.
