acropora id

moty

I think it is some kind of deepwater acro. Need help identifying before gluing it (don't know if it grows like a table acro and the amount of light it needs) .
thanks.

Well this is kinda of a chicken before the egg ID scenario here. It can't really be IDed properly because the growth structure is a mess. It really needs time to stretch its arms in order to get a good idea of what it can even be. The closest I could ever guess at this point is A. lokani because of the axial corallites. But I am not really confident about that guess.

I am by no means a expert on this matter but it looks to have more polyps in a denser area than the pictures of the lokani.

That's kinda what I meant by it's growing like a mess. There isn't an Acropora that naturally grows like that. This piece was probably clipped off a big colony then mounted to a plug sideways then while the coral tries to straighten its self out it looks like a chewed up piece of gum.

Thanks
I think I will wait with the gluing and wait to see how it grows.
Added 2 pics from another angle. Maybe it would help
