Acropora & Montipora, slow growth

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what you guys think....

When I'd put in a new acro or monti frag into the tank, I'd have pretty good/fast growth. However, once there is some swing with Ca & Alk, growth seems to pretty much stop. Cutting tips on the acros have helped somewhat. But is this lull in growth a common phenomenon? Any opinions as to why this happens?

Any ideas on how to sort this out?

Yea the swing.. They like stable conditions

Really the only thing you can do is keep the parameters as stable as possible and just leave it alone.
