I thought these shots were pretty cool.
The macro shots were taken with Canon Rebel T2i with a 50mm 1.4 and Kenko extension tubes.

very nice shots. what was the light source?

I just got a 50mm lens. How far away from the glass is that coral?

Fun to see the polyp extension. Your choice of placement of focal plane is rather unusual in several of those.

The light source was a t5 bulb. The 50mm lenses are great but the focal distance is pretty far away. When using Kenko extension tubes for macro it brings the distance way in. The coral is maybe 4 to 5 inches from the glass and the lens was pressed right against the glass.

I had very very shallow depth of field with this setup and wanted to focus on the branches with the largest polyp extension.

The one shot of both frags was with a 12mm and the others were with a 20mm tube. There is also a 36mm and all of them can be combined.

Excellent looking shots - I really like the way polyps look like they are emitting the light out at the ends!

Thanks. That's when over exposure becomes your friend I guess.

Heres a new shot, less over exposed and better more accurate color corrected this time. These acros are getting very pale. This shot is my favorite so far
