Acros do amazing, but cannot keep Montis?

I am hoping someone might have some information that might help me to understand why all Montiporas in my system do not do well. Any kind I try to keep, whether digita, caps, or encrusting do not have good polyp extension or eventually get dead spots. I have a great collection of Acropora that are thriving. I also have some great zoanthids (I do get a melted one or two from time to time) Could it be a pest? I have looked close and do not seem to see any. I will test my water params and post, but in the meantime, curious if anyone else has experienced this or could suggest a possible reason. thanks!

If I remove all Montis (I do not have many) will the nudis eventually all die or do they eat other things as well?

Evil little buggers. Best bet is not to keep monti's for at least 6 months. If you still have some monti's just pull them out and dip them in CoralRx. Then get a soft bristle toothbrush and find any of the egg sacs and scrub them off. If you have large monti colonies with crevices you'll just have to throw them away. I took small pieces of each of my monti's and tossed the large colonies. I was able to save a piece of all of them and they've all since recovered. Good luck on getting rid of the little buggers...

Just get a yellow coris wrasse and they will be gone in no time

thought that too and i had a pair of them, i ended up tossing all my montis as i tried alot of stuff to rid my tank of these, ended up with no monti's for a year to solve problem

I had the same issue and could never ID a nudibranch but my tank is packed. I bought a twin soot hogfish and two months later my montis looked great.
