ACROS is coming back ..........

I miss my friends in the hobby, so the only option is to revive ACROS. I've set up an email just for ACROS, acrossarasota at gmail dot com. Send me an email and you'll be added to the club list. I'd like to have an organizational meeting within a couple of weeks and a fun meeting within a month. If you have any special connections for meetings or other ideas I'd like to hear them also.

Ideally this is to be a non commercial and non financial organization of friends who share the same interests. The LFS's that are willing to share the non commercial aspects are invited to join and participate. Sharing the club info would also be appreciated.

Looking forward to a lot of emails ........

Hello Ago, and glad to see someone trying to revive this club.

Ecoreef and corals has offered to open their doors for the Acros club. Might give Chad and Donna call.

Bobby my other 1/2 is just getting his feet wet in salt. We are currently looking for a 40g-50g 36x18 drilled setup with a canopy.

email on the way:clown:

Looking for a place to meet in the next couple of weeks. Sarasota county property is only available to registered non profits. Anybody have a place we can use ? I'd prefer not to have an organizational meeting at an LFS. One reef club I joined had the first couple of meetings at a McDonalds.

Also what would be a preferred meeting day/time ? My personal preference/availability would be week day evenings except for special events which would be Saturday mornings/afternoons.

Maybe Panara may work, the one on Bee Ridge would work great for people who live in south county area. I have seen many bible, Mary Key, kids groups have meetings there. Weekday evenings work for me, later the better like 7pm.

I down here in PG, and weekends work best for me. I have attended "meetups" at the Venice beach, great place to have a BBQ. At those we had well over 100 show up without any problems, but then again that was 4 years ago.

Count me in, would like having interaction with other reef keepers in the area. Week day evenings would work best for me also, any evening but Wednesday.

Panera Bread sounds good but the one at 41 and Bahia Vista is probably the most centrally located. Address is 1277 So Tamiami Trail, it's in the shopping center on the south east corner of the intersection.

Lets meet at 7 pm next thurs the 26th. I'll send out emails also because this isn't the most active forum (yet) ;).

If you have a hobby related shirt it would be helpful if you wear it. I'll be wearing a white Coralife T shirt.

Anyone considering hosting the meeting in August ?

If you have an established tank it's a chance to show it off. If you're new to the hobby it's a chance to get feedback and advice. If you can't make the meeting and would like to host a meeting email me at acrossarasota@gmail.com

Also, does anyone have connections at Mote ? Back of Mote is a great tour. They also maintain the aquarium at Selby Library, another great tour.

I plan on attending tomorrows meeting but I will not able to be there by 7. If anyone will still be there I can show up around 7:30 or so. Thank you.
