acro's melting

I had a blenny die and did'nt notice for couple days. Amonia spike. Immeditaly bought bigger clean up crew and doing 20% water changes. 3 sps melting- a yongi, pink birdsnest and a green birdsnest. All other sps doing great. Polyp extention is not great but everything is healthy for the conditions. Learned another lesson - after 5 years of things going great all it takes is one problem to cause a disaster. I always use my yongi coral as my canary for water quality(polyps always out). Looks like I might lose a small part of my yongi and I'll be fragging my pink birdsnest to save whats left. Gets me angry when you have a coral for over 5 years and this happens. Weird thing is my purple slimmer was unafected by the spike. All my so called rare sps are doing great.

Just complaining

Smalltime,

Sorry about the loss of your sps, having them that long, I can imagine the frustration you had.

What about an ORP meter to detect the foulness of your water chemistry?

I've heard many SPS live by there ORP's....

Just my opinion....
