Acros receding

Did you recently do a water change?

Sometimes the exchange of freshly mixed saltwater, lacks beneficial bacteria for the water's ecosystem to stabilize. Many reasons why a system needs to be fully established before high requirement corals are kept.

I've had an instance where I changed entirely too much water (50%) and there were issues of STN. I discovered that the tank water and fresh mix didn't have parameters that matched.

I do weekly 5-10% changes. Roughly 5-10 gallons on a 75 gallon with a refugium below. I may hold off on a water change for a month and see what happens.

I'd change 90% of the water it the only way

HuH;p...

I second the superglue trick.. I used it on a cali tort that i saved from a friends tank that was slowly receding in his tank and continued to do it in mine.. After the glue as stated above it stopped receding and has since started to encrust over the glue.. I've also put stags into globs of epoxy to set them on rocks and the tissue eventually just started to encrust over the epoxy. Those were health fresh cuts but same principle..

Super glue does help, because once the STN starts, a bit of the tissue folds over slowly, even though it's trying to heal.

The glue utilized will hold it in place aiding it's recovery.

Looks to me like a lack of light problem. What's your light info?

+1 on this. Check your lighting. I have 3 400w radium bulbs which I have to change out every 6 months. If I wait longer this starts to happen. What kind of bulbs are you using and when is the last time you changed them? How long is your photoperiod?

Water flow and Alk could certainly have something to do with it as well. I've found acros to want more flow than the average person would think. Good luck!
