Acrylic cleaning question

My tank is finally clearing up after adding a bunch of very fine aragonite, however now there is a fine silt all over the acrylic. Is it safe to just scrape this stuff off with a plastic scraper? Will it dissolve on it's own? I would give it a shot with the scraper, but I would hate to scratch up the tank before the cycle is even finished. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

can't help but chuckle as i did the very same thing a couple weeks ago. wow, what a dust storm. what sucks is it looks so nice then you dump in the water and think "WHAT DID I DO!" :)

everything will clear up (to include the dust) in about a week tops. just take a soft cloth and wipe down inside your sump. it eventually goes away.

I had the same thing happen when i put the sand in my tank but i got the skimmer to work on it and most of it was gone in couple days. when there was only a little bit left i used my mag float to break it off and it was gone without scrathcing the tank at all.

David, do you recommend the mag float for general cleaning then? I don't have anything to clean the acrylic yet besides a plastic scraper and I haven't researched magnetic cleaners yet.

They make a Mag float for Acrylic its the greenish ones. I just check mine periodicly to make sure sand hasnt got itself trapped in there but other than that it works well with a slight amount of elbow grease.
