Acrylic magnet cleaner?

What do you guys recommend? The current one I have been using has started to put fine scratches on the inside acrylic. Changes the filter pads and continues to do this. Not noticeable unless you look closely, but don't want it to become a problem.

I am currently using a Magnavore and will be bringing it back to the LFS, since it is only 4-5 months old.

I use a piece of acrylic. It works great but your tank may be too deep for something like that...
