What kind of bit should I get to cut good clean edges?

Are you refering to a router bit if so.. A Laminate Trimming Bit has straight teeth and bearing on the bottom...

For the best edge I would suggest a spiral upcut or downcut bit, less chance of chips causing problems in your router. You can use the laminate trim bit or flush trimmer to clean up your edges after glueing, but the spiral bit works alot better in maching to get ready to glue.
