Acrylic Rimless?!

Ok i want to make my own tank out of acrylic or glass if it will hold up better...but what my question is how many gallons can you hold before you have to reinforce with a rim or something? I would like to do something like about 35-40 gallons custom mesurements

I'm no expert, but I've seen very large acrylic frag tanks with no trim/edging. I just think you need to increase the thickness to avoid bowing...

i have a 30g rimless the dimensions are 24"x24"x14",it is made from 3/4" thick acrylic and it still has a microbow in it.
