Wet/Dry sand paper ( if that’s what the above meant) is not conducive in a wet environment, it will only make a mess of the job at best. At some point in the process polishing compounds need to be applied to remove any and all sanding haze.
You'd need to empty the tank. Sand paper will haze it up. You generally start with like 1000 or 1500 grit and end at 2000 grit. Then you'll polish it after to make it clear again
