Acrylic tank flexability

Hey!

I just made a 50 gallon 15" tall tank with 1/4" acrylic (What the calculator thing told me). When I filled it up with water I am getting alot of bending on the top of the tank(forget the specific name for when it does that ><). The top is not braced at all. I was just wondering what is an ok amount for it to bend out on the long parts.

Sorry for this sounding so confusing but I cannot think of the term....

What are the other dimensions of the tank? No matter...you should have perimeter bracing around the top unless you use thick enough acrylic...and yours is not thick enough to not have bracing.
