SO found this acrylic tank here locally.. Prob is one seem needs to be repaired... IS this gonna be possible and what are the chances of it holding.. Thinking of reseaming it then building a frame around it to hold it.. prob is how to re seam it?

This should be possible to reglue the seam, they have a special acrylic caulk or glue. Maybe check with a local plastic supply co here in alb or i think maybe mydral or reign may have some of that acrylic glue lying around that you could try.

Thats what I was thinking.. Maybe they will chime in and see if they have any info on fixing.. I did read somewhere that trying to re glue a seem can weaken it but i think thats not the issue here since i believe the seem is broke..

you might be able to reweld it if you could get it cleaned up well. You want Weldon #15 (16?) probably. Try Regal Peidmont plastics or Abq plastic supply.

Personally I wouldn't risk it.... and I have welded a lot of acrylic.

I've never tried to repair a tank seam, so I don't think I'll be much help there. I did attempt to repair a cracked remora skimmate box, with temporary success. I don't know that I would try a whole seam without taking the entire tank apart, routing the edges, and the regluing the entire thing.

Ya well I didnt get it.. They guy got all hurt for some reason and wouldnt sell me the tank.. Who cares... I will find another.. Any one got a good 75 anywhere?
