Acrylic Weldon advice

I'm going to try to build a small frag tank and I had a quick question about welding. I'm going to use the pins method. Since I don't have a router, I had the pieces cut at the plastic shop.
I did not account for leaving a 1/8" ledge on the side pieces to apply the Weldon. When the sides sit on the bottom piece it comes out flush to the edge. Will I be able to creat a good seal without having the small ledge when I apply the weldon? I'd like to avoid having to drive to the other side of town to go back to the plastics shop to have those extra cuts made.

how thick is the acrylic? I think the weldon can usually wick in just fine without a ledge, but if it's really thick maybe not, I don't really know. Do you have scrap pieces for some practice joints?

If it's for a frag tank I'm assuming it's no thicker then 1/2'' if so you won't have any issues as the weld-on well give the capillary action.

I get much better results with the pin method with 1/2". Just finished gluing up 2 water tanks and a sump. Used .010 Guitar string....
