Sorry didn't see your question, RAW mode is an option for some (maybe most) decent digital cameras, it saves the 'raw' data from the sensor as the image is mage, this RAW file must be converted to an editable format, usually the software comes with the camera as RAW is native to the sensor and processor. During the conversion process you can alter almost all of the important settings you would use during the shoot, ie white balance and exposure compensation, and many others. This is especially important for reef tanks due to the lighting, it's easy to change the K temp of the interpretation of the sensor, which allows for a proper 'white' setting.
