Activated carbon and sps

Any thing I need to watch out for (paramteer wise) when running carbon?

My SPS never liked long term carbon use. I only ran it sparingly when needed to remove any chemicals or unknowns.

Use less than you should and ramp up to whatever you think your tank needs. I like to use to to catch any contamination from me sticking my hands in the tank and what not.

It can make the water more clear and let more light in. This is not usually an issue, but if you water is REALLY dirty, it can be.
