active schooling fish for 265

They will. Also one of the few cardinals that actively shoal. Difficult feeding, however.

Steve sorry to bother you. Difficult because they require multiple feeding. Or just difficult to eat because if they get spoked they will refuse to eat

When I had them, I was feeding multiple times per day with capelin fish roe and cyclopeeze. But they are awesome. I think they do not ship well if I remember correctly.

That's a pretty big tank. You could probably get away with about 10 each of the chromis and anthias, if you don't have too many large fish fouling the water. I've read (for what that's worth) that a larger group will keep the bullying of the weakest fish at a minimum, provided there's plenty of rockwork.

A few species of Anthias in a tank that size would be stunning. There are a number of relatively hardy Anthias species. Just be sure there is only one male in each species or that they are all female. The males will tend to pick one another off. If you purchase all females the biggest and strongest will likely turn male. It's really amazing to watch the transformation. The color change is spectacular.

do you know best 3 anthias to keep, in term of hardiness. of course the lrytail i already have and know, but what else

Bartlett's also has a reputation for being pretty hardy - and, like the lyretail, on the more aggressive side.

I've had a pair (and want about three more females!) in a 40-B quarantine for a month or so, and they're flashy, flippy and utterly charming.
