actnics?

Is 460 nm a good actnic? It is what I currently have in my nova exteme 24" fixture. I am replacing them and I was wondering if there were any other options.

actinics are mostly for looks. If you like the color, then they are good.

I thought the actnic light was essential to coral growth???

Actinics should be used if your lighting is like 10,000K cuz the blue light helps them but it isnt essential. If you have 20,000K bulbs than they just add extra blue. Daylight is really the only essential but anything to get closer to sunlight is good.
