NO CL links allowed.

Are you serious.... wth would they delete those for?

is CL a threat?

I just dont think they want people selling stuff and posting links here for that site?

But i dont understand why they would delete that one especially if it wasnt for sell and someone needed help asap!!!

Pete was it glass? I would not get a tank over 240 gallons in glass that is just me

We do not allow links to live auctions on ebay, or other similar classifieds boards either. It's a rule, and it's enforced across the board.

That sucks!

I suppose that depends on your point of view. Just realize that every rule we put in place is there because some schmuck made it necessary. If people were capable of policing themselves, you'd never see me.

I meant the 300 gallon tank that broke open when I said that sucks. My post had nothing to do with your decision to block the thread. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It was an acrylic tank that the end blew off. I think a few members of MARS made it up to help the guy out, which was my intention with the post.

No problem, I hope I didn't snap too hard at you.

Unfortunately, nothing is perfect. Of course I'd prefer to see the guy with an exploded fish tank get some help. If he was a member here, he could have asked for help here, and solved a lot of problems.
The fact is, that to prevent commercial interests from abusing the membership here, we have had no choice but to employ the use of rules. Most of them are at most a slight inconvenience for our members that aren't here to separate you from your money.
On occasion, there is a situation like this one, and action has to be taken on a seemingly innocent thread. I guarantee you that the next person to have a link to a live ebay auction edited would have searched for, and pointed out this thread citing "You let him do it!"
The rules are the rules, and it takes some pretty huge circumstances to get them bent.

Bump

Looks like this tank's supplies (lighting, H&S skimmer, tunze's-- etc) are listed on CL now and the guy is really down on acrylic tanks. He says 20 years reef experience. I've always had glass but I think they can fail catastrophically also. Just hope it never happens to me. The items are located in Natomas.
