Been 3 days since I added him and I can't find him anywhere I have a lid bu I checked the floor around the aquarium and sump?

How long can these guys go into hiding before they pass away?

For a quick check just get a powerhead and start blasting the rocks. You should find a body, one way or the other.

They will usually hide for about a week when introduced into a new tank. I wouldn't worry until about 10 days of no sightings...

i'm sorry but this is terrible advice.
the very reason the fish is hiding is because it is unsure and stressed out from being moved into a new environment. blasting the substrate in an effort to unearth it is just going to cause it more to worry about.
i've had some that only hide for the day and one that stayed hidden for 3 weeks.
just leave it alone and it'll eventually show.

It has been said enough. BUT>>>>one more time...WAIT! Mine stayed buried for 9 days! Also good advice was "Don't move anything in the box thereby creating more stress for inhabitants."

I just added one as well two days ago. Same thing. Stays hidden. He does come out, however, for a few minutes at a time. Watchful waiting...I do wonder if/how they eat, though.

Fish can go a week or two without feeding. Being that it's a wrasse, it will hunt for pods and other micro inverts in the meantime till he takes to frozen or pellets. Mine was a pig and ate everything!
