Added first coral now what?

So I reset up my tank and have never kept SPS. Today I added my first sps, a birdnest coral. I already have great polyp extension so far, so I am optimistic. However, my question is how long should I wait as a "test period" to make sure my tank is truly ready? When can I add another coral?

How is your water quality? How old is the tank? There really is no set answer to your question as there are a million and one variables. That being said i would give it some time until i added more sps. Use your better judgement if in a week or two the coral still looks good, colors up, and or begins some kind of growth go for it. Birdsnests, pocillopora, montis, etc are all great beginner sps.
