Hello all,
This is my first thread on RC so please bear with me. I currently have a 60g cube with a 20g sump that has been set up for 1 year now. I have now come to a point where I want to expand my tank and add a 40B that will consist of majority SPS.

My question is:
Should I add the 40B to my existing set up by plumbing it in? If so, how should I do this?
or
Should I make the 40B its own system?

I have the 40B with about 50lbs of dry rock that I am curing and cycling and its in its second week now. I will probably wait until March before I even do anything else to this tank and make sure its been fully cycled ad seeded.

if your current skimmer and pump can handle the 40 breeder it would be cheaper to add to existing setup otherwise your looking at more money for equipment to handle a 40 breeder sps tank.

That's exactly what I was thinking and I am looking to upgrade my return. My skimmer is way over sized for this tank so it will def handle it. Thanks

I would add it. I'm setting up a 40br as a mainly SPS tank but unfortunately it will be an independent system from my 90g.

Ok thanks. I was going to use an old overflow box but then read how many people had floods because of them so I ordered the equipment to drill it.
Why aren't you connecting your 40 SPS to your 90?

I don't have space in the same room as the 90g. It's in a "sitting" area by my dinning room. The 40g will probably go upstairs.
