Right now I have a female true perc in a 20 high QT. I'm waiting to get my 60 up and running again but I've and her for ten months. I'm looking to get her a mate but I'm not sure what I should do. She's about 2.5 maybe 3 inches and I'm looking add a smaller, juvenile true perc in hopes that they'll pair. Should I get one now and see if they pair or wait till the female is in the 60. I'm leaning towards the first option as I'll be able to have them in together at the same time once my new tank is established. The other option would be less preferred because I'd have to QT a baby loan and would ultimately take longer to have more fish. Just wanna be sure that the new clown doesn't get beat up.
