adding a naso?

Hi, I currently have a 125g reef with a hippo, yellow, and scopas tang along with a jawfish, clown, and a pygmy angel. They have all been getting along well for a few months but now that the scopas tang is a bit larger than the yellow they are starting to show some aggression towards eachother.

My brother recently finished cycling 65g tank and i was wondering what you all think about putting the scopas in the 65g and adding a naso to the 125

Will the naso be alright in a 125? and the scopas in a 65?

Also will I have the same aggression issue with the naso?

Thanks for any input

the naso will only be ok in there temporarily. he WILL outgrow that tank.

scopas should be ok in the 65.

you shouldnt have agression issues with the naso. i would worry about that yellow tang though

K thanks everybody. The people at my lfs said a naso would be fine in a 125 so Im glad I checked here first. So it looks like no naso for me. . . .

Would a powder blue be alright with my hippo/regal tang?

powder blues get quite agressive. they get large also but not near as large as a naso. they are also a lot more finicky fish of the tangs. they need good water movement, oxygenation, and water quality

I have had a naso in my 150g which is 72"x18"x24" for about 6 months and he has hardly grown. Saltwater fish grow at a very slow rate and you only usually get about half their overall length. I think a naso bought at medium size will probably be fine in your tank. The one thing is though they are extremely finicky. Mine only eats flakes and collard greens and a little seaweed selects. I had to work hard to even get him to eat that. If you think you will work hard at feeding them I would buy one and try to make about 5-6" and you will have better luck. Happy reefing and good luck.
